New accessibility features for 2024

29 Jul 2024 | News

There have been a series of significant upgrades made to the accessible shower room at our festival site this year, ensuring a more comfortable and safer experience for all our guests. Your feedback after last year’s festival has helped shape the changes that have been made.

Here are the key improvements Staffordshire Showground has made to the accessible shower in Zone H (the accessible camping area at the lower end of the site)

  1. Toilet with Hand Rails: A toilet equipped with sturdy handrails for better support and convenience.
  2. Bench and Hooks: A bench and hooks have been installed to provide a comfortable place to sit and convenient spots to hang clothes and towels.
  3. Slip-Resistant Tiles: The shower room tiles have been professionally treated to make them slip-resistant, reducing the risk of slips and falls.
  4. Independent Hot Water Supply: The shower room now has its own independent hot water supply. This means no more sudden changes in water temperature when someone turns on a tap in the adjacent washing up area.
  5. Emergency Pull Cord: For added safety, a ceiling to floor emergency pull cord has been installed.

These changes reflect our commitment to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all our festival-goers. Check out the photos below to see the new and improved accessible shower room.

These changes have been made as a direct result of the information you gave us on the feedback forms last year. HEFF2023 was the first time we held the festival at Staffordshire Showground and it’s been fantastic how they have taken on board our feedback and made the necessary changes to become more accessible.

Not everything can be fixed straight away, so please do fill in the feedback forms after HEFF2024 so we can let the showground know what matters to our community.
