Q: Where and when is HEFF 2020?
A: HEFF 2020 will be held from 3rd to 10th August at Newark Showground, Newark, Nottinghamshire. The best way to get directions to the correct entrance is to check Google Maps and ask for directions to HEFF
Q: How do I get the low income ticket?
A: A discount is available to families with an income of under £16, 000 per year who intend to attend the entire week. In order to get this please email firstname.lastname@example.org with proof of your income. A tax credits letter showing the total household income is ideal, but any other reasonable evidence will be looked at sympatheticaly. Once we have checked this we will send you a coupon code you can use at the checkout stage of the booking to apply the discount to your order. We can’t apply a low income discount retrospectively once an order is placed. The discount is 25% on adult and Age 5-17 tickets and can be applied in addition to the Earlybird discount.
Q: I am a university student, or working young adult. Can I get a low income ticket?
A: Sorry no. Low income family tickets are just that, they apply to children less than 18 or still in full time secondary education, and their parents or guardians, where the family income is less than £16000 per year.
Q: Are there discounts for carers
A: We offer a free ticket to the registered carer of a disabled person, who is in receipt of carers allowance and would otherwise not attend the festival. A parent who would otherwise attend the festival is eligible if they are in receipt of carers allowance, or the child is on the higher rate of DLA or PIP. Please contact us to provide evidence before booking and we will send a link for you to book the free ticket.
Q: Can I be on the crew?
A: We will be opening crew applications soon. Check back here for a link to the crew application form. To join the crew you must be aged at least 16, and be able to be on site for the whole week during which you will be expected to do at least 16 hours of rota duties, plus either the setup day (Sunday 2nd August) or to stay until dismissed (should be by 5pm) on Monday 10th of August. We need to keep a balance between adult and younger crew and reserve some crew places for people with particular skills, so we may not be able to accept all applicants.
Q: Can I offer a workshop or activity?
A: We are always looking for new workshops at the event. If you would like to offer one please email email@example.com for more information.

Q: What time can I arrive/leave on a week ticket?
A: The earliest you can arrive is 2pm on Monday 3rd August and the latest you can leave is midday Monday 10th August. Do not arrive earlier as we will not be able to let you onto the site. You are very welcome to arrive and leave at any point in between these two dates or stay for all of it if you can. For safety reasons vehicle gates are closed from dusk until 7am and can only be opened for disabled visitors
Q: When will I receive my tickets?
A: Your confirmation email is your ticket. Either print this off or just give the name you booked under at the gate and the volunteers will find you on the list. We don’t send physical tickets to keep our costs down, and therefore your ticket price as low as possible.
Q: Are all the activities included?
A: All of the workshops, live music and other activities are included in the ticket price, as well as your camping.
Q: Are Day Tickets valid for specific days?
A: Day tickets are valid for any day other than arrival and departure days (Tuesday 4th August to Sunday 9th August inclusive are the valid days). We wecommend coming on a weekday if you are able as the activities will be less bust, and there is a risk that some will kave run out of materials or be fully booked at the weekend. Don’t come on either Monday! We’ll just tick you off on the day you arrive and give you your wristband.
Q: Are tickets Refundable or Transferable?
A: Unfortunately tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is because we have to commit to many expenses well in advance on the basis of the number of people booked. We suggest you get holiday insurance if you believe something may stop you from attending the festival.
Q: When can I arrive and leave with a day ticket?
A: Day tickets are valid for any full day of activities from Tuesday to Sunday. This will be at the earliest 8am until latest 2am but will vary from day to day.
Q: What if I can’t or don’t want to camp?
There is a Premier Inn near the site, and a Travelodge (cheaper) a few minutes north of the site. You could also try Airbnb or looking for other local options. Book “staying off-site” tickets in this case.
Q: Can I bring a caravan or trailer?
A: Yes, caravans trailer tents and motorhomes are welcome.
Q: I am under 18 and my parents don’t want to come to the festival, can I come with someone else?
A: Everyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by either a parent, a guardian, or a responsible person over the age of 21. The festival organisers must have the mobile phone number of that person, and they must be staying on the site.
Q: Is there a quiet Area?
A: There is a quiet zone which will be situated at the far side of the camping area. We can’t guarantee noise levels in this area but we ask anyone camping there to avoid any noise past 10pm. Please be aware that the site is about 1/4 mile from two trunk roads and at times there is traffic noise.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Well behaved dogs are welcome at your tent and in outdoor areas. They are not allowed in any building or marquee. They must be kept on a lead inside the festival and camping areas. On a lead means with a person on the other end, or tied to a fixed object, not with a loose lead trailing from the neck! Any mess must be cleared up immediately, bagged and put in the rubbish skip. Any dog owner failing to observe any of these points may be asked to leave or arrange for their dog to be removed from the Festival.
